|AIWA! NO!|Joe Watkins – Joseph “Joe” Watkins has served as chief executive officer, a regular political analyst for MSNBC, CNBC and Al Jazeera and a former White House aide to United States President George H. W. Bush.
Watkins currently serves as executive vice president for ElectedFace.com.
As the court appointed Receiver for the Chester Upland School District from 2012 – 2015, he was the sole fiduciary and decision maker for a school district with over 500 employees, 7000 customers/students and a $120M budget.
Watkins served as a top aide to United States Senator Dan Quayle in the early 1980s and then as an assistant to University of Pennsylvania President Sheldon Hackney.
After leaving the White House in 1991 he became an equity partner and managing director in an asset management firm with $3.2B AUM.
Beginning in 2004 he served as a political analyst for CNN’s Paula Zahn Now and American Morning as well as a co-host for CNN’s Crossfire before moving to MSNBC and CNBC as a regular political analyst and contributor. He occasionally co-hosts Squawk Box on CNBC and analyzes major political news for AL Jazeera English and Al Jazeera Arabic.
He has also consulted for Deutsche Bank, UBS and Bank of America Merrill Lynch on national elections and their impact on the capital markets.
Watkins is a graduate of the Middlesex School, the University of Pennsylvania and the Princeton Theological Seminary.
He has served as pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Philadelphia since 1998, serves on several boards and has received numerous honors and awards.
He and his wife Stephanie have three married children and two grandchildren
