The number of pubs and bars in the UK has increased for the first time in a decade, according to the ONS. Some 315 pubs opened last year, taking the total number to 39,130.
The data puts the boost down to “changing consumer habits” and an increase in food sales. So much so that pubs and bars now employ more people to serve food than they do bar staff.
A wide range of delicious food is on the table this second weekend of 2020 as Leicester’s ‘Where to Vegan market’ takes place.
Shoppers in Leicester have a very special treat in store in 2020, as Leicester Marketbecomes host to a series of Were To Vegan Festivals.
Taking place in New Market Square, Where To Vegan Festivalswill be taking place on the second Saturday of each month, running from 10am to 5pm.
The first event of 2020 will be taking place on Saturday 11 January, perfect for anybody taking part in Veganuary or looking to eat healthier in the New Year.
Completely free to attend, everything on offer from the vast array of traders will be 100% vegan.
Combining a blend of incredible local and national traders, food stalls, cakes, skin care, crafts and music – people of all ages are welcome to attend.

Leicester Market along with the vegan food and product finder launched first of a series of regular events food in September 2019.
Huns, Leicester’s vegan crispy fried ‘Chickhun’ producer, will be be frying up its seitan delights, and The Loving Kebab will be creating delicious vegan kebabs.
Eco-conscious vegan caterer No Baloney provides its home-cooked comfort food, and Indian vegan thali company Home Kitchen Vegan will be serving up its distinctive thali platters.
Future Cycles folks fall head over heels over anything bicycle, the fact that cycling is the most environmentally friendly form of transport after walking is a good enough excuse.
People should be up and about – and on foot, on bicycle and out of their cars and back to healthy lifestyle; which is why courses have been launced in Leicester for the coming year – convieninetly in the city centre .
