UK university staff walk out over pay, conditions of service

Almost half of all UK universities face disruption as lecturers and support staff start an eight-day strike. More than 43,000 university staff across 60 institutions strike in a protest over pensions, pay and conditions – with many lectures and tutorials cancelled from 25 November to 4 December. The University and College Union has accused universities of using “strong-arm tactics” to undermine the walkout, urging students to report lecturers who strike and threatening pay reductions///CRIMSON TAZVINZWA/
